The 2017 ICC Champions Trophy was a One Day International cricket tournament held in England between 01 June 2017 to 18 June 2017. Again three cities hosted the ICC Champions Trophy 2017's matches: London, Birmingham and Cardiff. India won the ICC Champions Trophy 2013, beating England by five runs in the final after overcoming South Africa, the West Indies and Pakistan in the group stage, followed by a semi-final victory over Sri Lanka. As winners, India earned $2 million in prize money, the largest amount since the tournament's inception.
Bangladesh replaced the West Indies, who finished outside the top eight in ninth position, in the ICC ODI Team Rankings on the cut-off date. Bangladesh returned to the ICC Champions Trophy for the first time since 2006, and for the first time a major Test team, the West Indies, lost their place in the Champions Trophy.
